Warm liquid during a trek or hiking trip is always at a premium. A hiking thermos means hot tea or water with which we can prepare freeze-dried food. Importantly, the offer includes thermoses for both liquids and dinner thermoses. They are characterized by a wider lid. We can easily put dumplings, pieces of meat and eat while resting. Taking drink and food from home, we are independent on the route. We don't have to look for restaurants and food outlets. Importantly, if we have freeze-dried food we only need hot water. How to make the thermos hold heat longer?

Of course, modern thermoses hold heat for quite a long time. Despite the cold outside, even after a few hours we will have steaming tea or a warm dish from a thermos lunch. However, there is a trick that allows you to extend this period. Just pour boiling water over the thermos before pouring liquid or putting food in it. We close it and let the thermos warm up. Then we pour out the water and pour or put in what we want. With such a simple procedure, the thermos will keep warm longer. This method works the same way when it comes to thermal mugs

These are specialized thermoses with a drinking spout. Different capacities allow us to adjust the purchase to our needs. However, the most common choices are the half-liter ones. Thermal mugs are mostly made of stainless steel. Thanks to this they are durable and will certainly serve us for many years. They are great not only for the mountains but also for work or as car accessories for drinking while driving. Remember that all heat-holding devices are great when we don't have time to cook a meal. They also allow us to warm up when inclement weather surprises us during a hike. They are also useful on a daily basis when we want to be sure we have food and drink with us.
